Tracking students who graduated 12th standard in 07'

1) Partiban got admission in CIT (EEE).
2) Dinesh got admission in GCT (Computer science).
3) Navin got admission in SNS, saravanam patti (ECE) (not a good college recently started).
4) Arvind joined B.Sc.
5) Pavithra joined in Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, karumathampatti (IT).

Sundaresan

Sundaresan is in a critical stage right now. He has been admitted to VLB but needs to pay the fees in a few days. The bankers are saying that they will give the loan only if they get a bonafide document from VLB and VLB wants him to pay the fees in order to release the document.

I went ahead and asked Kumar uncle to release the money (around 30K) for the fees. There is some risk of the loan not being made available and this cash not being paid back to us, but this seemed to be a risk worth taking, given the situation.

Kumar uncle has spend a few days with Sundaresan taking him to Chennai for counselling and also showing him the sights. This is the first time this kid has actually travelled in a train! They went to a prayer meeting with Paul Dinakaran's wife and uncle mentioned that she prayed for all of us and wished us success.

Empowering the students - quality of schools

How do truely empower the students we pick? This is something we have talked extensively in the past. One thing is the quality of the schools.

One option was to pick students in tamil medium government schools. We are in no doubt that this is where we have the best chance of finding the most financially deserving students. We can then transfer these students to better schools. Are there good tamil medium schools in Coimbatore? Kumar uncle is looking into this right now. I'll post the names of these schools soon...
